Melbourne Funeral Celebrant

David Schneider

Funeral Celebrant

A caring funeral celebrant

My name is David Schneider, a professional celebrant for both funerals and weddings. There may be many reasons why you are reading this, it may be that a loved one has passed on or preparations are being made for an imminent death, or it may be that you are wondering how to involve a funeral celebrant in the grieving process. I offer to help explain the process in planning a funeral and to help, guide and assist in any way I can.

The death of a loved one is a tragic event – those left behind may well feel devastated and grief-stricken at their loss. There is a bewildering array of arrangements to be made and important decisions to take. This is where as a sympathetic and experienced Funeral Celebrant, I can help.

I always create heartfelt ceremonies that honour the cycle of life and death. I work closely with families and individuals to create together a unique and personal ceremony that is right for your loved one and your family, encouraging friends and family to contribute and participate in any way they wish to help deepen everyone’s understanding of, and connection with the person who has died, in a wonderful and intimate ceremony.

Please contact me via email or telephone and I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

I travel all over Melbourne to discuss your needs and to plan the funeral service with you.

Things of Importance

Immediate funeral Service

If a funeral needs to be planned and conducted in the coming days or weeks please call to arrange a meeting. I visit you all over Melbourne 7 days per week.

Funeral Directors

I work with all the funeral directors in Melbourne.  You are NOT obliged to select the celebrant they offer you, you can choose your own.  I work with many families where I have conducted weddings, funerals and baby namings for them.  I am the "family celebrant".

My fees are already included in the quote from the funeral director.

Pre-planning a service

A loved one may have a terminal illness or be of a significant age and would like to be involved in the planning of their own service. We build the eulogy and ceremony together .

music & poems/

readings/rituals

Every ceremony is unique and will be written to tell a wonderful life story of the deceased. We will have music, a DVD photo display if required, and readings if requested.

You may even have doves or balloons released or a bagpiper to play. Everything is available and I work with the family to make it a truly personal and respectful service.

Memorial Service

There may be a private or non-attended burial or cremation and the family wish to have a memorial service to honour their loved one. This can be held anywhere and anytime.

religious service

I am not a minister but can incorporate prayers, psalms, blessings or other religious components that the family request.
